Bill Reid from Rupert Towing, donated his tow truck and time to tow away a relic van from the shelter - believed to be older than Gunther!

CFTK's Sarah Konsmo interviews Gunther and Tobbi for a TV segment, reporting on the damage to the shelter during the March snowstorm.

One Wet Workcrew! Bill Keating w\ATV

A small wet work party helped out around the shelter on Sunday, May 27th. Thanks to all those who attended including Bill Keating and his ATV, which hauled the wood chips in a trailer and eliminated the need to wheelbarrow the chips to many area's.


Hecate Strait Rotary Club

(L) Mark Rudderham and (R) Brian Musgrave, members of the Hecate Strait Rotary Club, are pictured alongside a backhoe compliments of Rupert Wood & Steel. The machine was put to work loading wheelbarrows of rock and gravel, which was then wheeled by other members of the club to the shelter structures. The backhoe also knocked down a big portion of the heron pen that was damaged on the site.

Jim Martin of the Lions Club w\Gunther

Members of the Prince Rupert Lions Club helped out at the shelter, by cutting brush and moving wood chips. Later, Lions club member Jim Martin presented the Shelter with a $2,000 donation from the local club.

Construction Crew

This is the construction crew who's expertise rebuilt the destroyed pens. They were replaced with 3 pens in a row combined in one large building. On June 15th, the new pens were totally finished. A big THANK YOU to these 3 for the planning and construction of these new pens.
