![]() ![]() Because of the fragile and helpless situation the patients that come to the shelter are in, it is imperative that they be kept as safe and secluded as possible. Keeping up with the maintenence of older buildings and providing new and specialized pens for the different types of birds and animals the shelter receives, is a constant battle. |
![]() ![]() Predator species must be kept far away from the prey species or the stress would be to much for either of them. |
![]() ![]() There are no other facilities in Prince Rupert, to take unwanted or abandoned pet birds such as budgies, canaries and cockatiels. So the shelter has provided this pretty little chalet. Until a safe adoptive home can be found for them, this chalet is their home. |
![]() ![]() With the generous help of volunteers, community support and donations, the shelter was able to build new pens. These provide a safe and sheltered haven for the patients until they recover and are healthy enough to be released back into the wild. |
