Past Donations Supporting the Shelter

February 26, 2008 - Wightman Twins Alanna, Ryan and Savannah are seen in the eagle pen after making a donation of $351 to the shelter. The money was recently raised at the twins 11th birthday party, where donations to the shelter were asked for in lieu of presents being bought for them. The Shelter would like to thank the Wightman twins, for their thoughtfulness and generosity, in support of the shelter helping the animals in our community.

February 9, 2008 - Graham Ave Residents The summer of 2007 the Graham Ave residents had a block party. A great time was had by all and the money raised was to go to a charitable organization in Prince Rupert. The group decided to donate the $1,000 raised to the Prince Rupert Wildlife Rehab Shelter and are seen presenting it. The weather was awful to say the least, but the eagles were on their best behaviour during this presentation.

November 2, 2007 - Tsimshian Lodge #58 Michael & Elaine Calli presenting a cheque to Gunther Golinia, on behalf of the Tsimshian Lodge No. 58, towards the work of the Wildlife Shelter.

September 5, 2007 - Canada Post: Prince Rupert Edith Michael, Local Area Superintendent for Canada Post, presents Gunther Golinia & Tobbi Gjelsvik of the Prince Rupert Wildlife Shelter with a cheque for $1,000. The Northern Zone won the money through a Canada Post Incentive Program. Four offices in the Northern Zone, Terrace, Kitimat, Smithers & Prince Rupert, then held a draw to determine the winning office. The winner could donate the funds to a charity or organization of their choice. The Prince Rupert postal employees selected the Wildlife Shelter after winning the draw.

July 18, 2007 - NWCC: CUPE Local 2409 Erfan Zahrai presents a $300 donation to Gunther Golinia, from the Northwest Community College Academic Union: CUPE Local 2409.

June 27, 2007 - Conrad School: 06/07 Kindergarten Conrad kindergarten students sold "Earth Day" bracelets and with the help of pennies donated by fellow students, collected $231.45 for the Wildlife Rehab Shelter. They toured the shelter to see how their donation and others from the community is used in rebuilding the facility, after the snowstorm disaster. The students, accompanied by their teacher Mae Jong-Bowles and some of the parents, are pictured with Bill Keating an active shelter supporter. We would also like to thank Mae for her donation to the shelter. In lieu of a gift for 20 years of service from the school board, Mae elected to forgo the gift and donated the money to the shelter.

June 2, 2007 - Port Edwards Lions Club Shawn & Audrey MacDonald, of the Port Edward Lions Club, presenting Gunther Golinia donation of $1,000 towards the work of the Shelter.

May 28, 2007 - Rose Marion This lady, Rose Marion, basically kickstarted our fundraising efforts with a very generous donation. It needed to be recognized and thus the attached picture. We presented Rose with this framed Eagle photo, to thank her for her thoughfulness towards the work of the Wildlife Rehab Shelter.

May 12, 2007 - Zi Beta Zeta Chapter Ladies from the Zi Beta Zeta Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority are seen presenting a cheque for $300 to Gunther Golinia. The money was raised through a raffle on a handmade quilt donated by member Sarah Ridgway. Gunther thanked the Ladies for attending and for their generous contribution for the Shelter.

At the Customer Appreciation Day, the local bank focused on the Friends of the Environment Foundation. This time, displays highlighted the work and efforts of the Prince Rupert Wildlife Rehab Shelter. The Foundation also presented the shelter with a $2500 donation. Throughout the day, staff handed out cake, coffee & pop to a steady stream of visitors. Raffle tickets were also sold with the benefits going to the shelter. The local TD Canada Trust Bank is a strong supporter of the shelter and the shelter gratefully appreciates their support. In the photo are TD staff members Phat Tran and Cynthia Rosario.

April 25, 2007 - Legion Pee Wee Hockey 2007 Members of the Legion Pee Wee Hockey Team & friends, at a birthday party for Bradon Horcoff and Sten Sundin, complete with a ball hockey game at the arena. The kids decided to forgo presents and asked for cash donations, from all those that attended, to be donated to the Prince Rupert Wildlife Rehab Shelter. Accepting their generous donation of $537.59, is Tobbi Gjelsvik on behalf of the Shelter. We thank the players, parents and friends for their support of the shelter!

A work party at the shelter, sorting and bagging cans donated by Eagle Pointe Lodge (located just North of Prince Rupert). After 8 hours of work the amount generated was an amazing $976. Our thanks to Gibran from the Lodge!

August 11, 2005 - Ladies Auxiliary President Dadye Schwab, of the Ladies Auxiliary to the Royal Canadian Legion Branch No. 27, presents a donation to Gunther Golinia. The money donated will help in the purchase of feed & supplies for the Prince Rupert Wildlife Rehab Shelter, and came from their bingo funds.
